Scrapstore News
We have lots of paper in the scrapstore at the moment and the limit is now 10kg per shop.br/>
We also have some really nice red box-type files which are ideal for memory boxes but have lots of other possible uses. Approx 12cm x 30cm x 26cm
How the Scrapstore membership works
Question: What do I get for my membership?
Answer: Members pay membership for 1 year and may have:-
Schools = 6 trolleys full of scrap per year
Community Groups = 4 trolleys full of scrap per year
Once the 4/6 trolleys have been reached we welcome you to carry on using the Scrapstore but members must then pay donations for the scrap that they take of around £10 per trolley.
Question: Who can use the membership card?
Answer: You may designate two named representatives whose names will be on the membership card and at least one of the named members must be present at each shop but may be accompanied by one other person who is not named on the card. Adult members must do the shopping for the children's organisation not the children.
Question: Are there any limits on how many of each items of Scrap we can take away?
Answer: It is not always possible to display limits on all of the items so customers will need to ask if there is a limit if they require more than 2 or 3 of one item. It is not fair to other customes if you take all of the best scrap in one go but if we have a constant source of supply of certain items e.g. the double sided tapes you may have as much as you need. Please do ask.
Question; When do I get the membership card?
Answer: As we are a recycling project and non profit making we will not post out the membership cards but your card should be ready for collection within a month of joining, please ask the volunteer at the desk on your next visit.
Question: Can anyone join the Scrapstore?
Answer: The Scrapstore is mainly for the benefit of Children's organisations.
Organisations who can become a Member are: Colleges; Schools; Playgroups; Nurseries; Childminders; Art Centres; Foster Carers; Youth Groups; Sunday Schools Community Groups; Individual Artists; Art and Craft Students. Art students may have individual memberships at the discretion of the management.
